We are looking for a PHD position in development of machine learning algorithms for intensive care medicine. 

This PhD project aims to develop new machine learning algorithms in the context of semi-supervised learning, time-to-event modelling, active learning, image classification, and extraction of interpretable patterns from a complex model. All these aspects are motivated from – and will be applied to – the predictive modelling of critically ill patients, for instance in assessing the risk of developing a muscle weakness complication. As such, the goal is to make contributions both in the machine learning domain and the medical domain.

Besides doing research, the candidate is expected to participate in educational activities (participate in seminars, be involved in teaching,…).
