Curriculum Vitae
The research of Bert Vandenberghe is situated at the intersection of applied linguistics and psycholinguistics, in that he addresses research questions that deal with second language (L2) classroom vocabulary learning by making use of techniques that come from the field of cognitive psychology. By combining traditional measures (such as pen-and-paper tests) with sensitive measurement techniques (such as reaction times and neurocognitive EEG indices), he intends to shed light on the impact of meaning- and form-focused L2 pedagogical approaches, both at the level of L2 vocabulary knowledge development and L2 vocabulary knowledge processing.
